Effective Use of Silent Expansion Agents

Silent expansion agents are a powerful tool for breaking rocks and concrete. Using them correctly ensures safety and efficiency. Here are some key techniques and tips for their effective use.

Drilling

  1. Use a Wind Drill: When drilling holes in the rock, be sure to choose the appropriate drill bit.
  2. Maintain Proper Hole Distance: The distance between holes should not exceed 30-60 cm. Note: For reinforced concrete, the hole distance should not exceed 20 cm.
  3. Hole Diameter and Depth: The hole diameter should be between 30-50 mm. Depending on the type of material being broken, the hole depth should be 70%-90% of the material's thickness.

Mixing

  1. Safety First: When mixing by hand, always wear rubber gloves for protection.
  2. Mixing Ratio: Mix each 5 kg bag of SPLIT.AG with 1.5 liters of clean, cold water, or use a weight ratio of 1 part water to 3 parts SPLIT.AG.
  3. Ensure Proper Mixing: After mixing, make sure the breaking agent is fully dissolved in the water to form a slurry.

Filling

  1. Clean the Holes: Before filling, use an air blower to clean the drilled holes thoroughly.
  2. Timely Filling: Pour the slurry into the holes within 10-15 minutes after mixing, filling them to 15 mm from the top. Do not fill the holes completely.
  3. Remove Air Pockets: Pour the slurry into the holes and stir to ensure there are no air pockets in the drilled holes.

Timing

After filling the slurry, cracks will start to appear in 30-60 minutes. The cracks will continue to widen, with the expansion process lasting up to 48 hours.
